According to William Rand, founder of the International Center for Reiki Training:

"We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body through pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions."

Reiki has been used since the 1920s to help release the lower energy that may be holding back the flow of the life force energy in you. When you allow it to flow through your body, charging your energy fields with positive energy, it raises your vibration. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body, anywhere the lower energy may be attached. Reiki is used to balance your energy centers, the chakra system in our body, moving the energy as it was intended.

In her Living Well article "Reiki in a Hospital Setting," Michele Anderson gives a couple of examples:

Mary, a yoga instructor and registered nurse, tried Reiki treatments out of curiosity. After her first session, she was pleasantly surprised to learn that Reiki had the ability to work beyond just the physical level. "Not only did I feel totally relaxed, but I found for two months after the treatment, my sleeping was better, I had a more positive outlook," she says.

Like Mary, clients often report an improvement in their mood, mental clarity, and stress levels.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes a good night's sleep and revitalized energy. It is administered by a Reiki Master. (Holy Fire® is the energy that I share in my Reiki practice.)

The word Reiki is two Japanese words: Rei, which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power," and Ki, which is "life force energy." I believe Reiki is a tool that helps you discover your energy centers and, after a session, helps you find ways to move them with your own guidance.

We'll spend 10 minutes on a free phone call getting to know each other. I will talk about what we do in the session, you can ask me questions, and we can talk about how Reiki can help you. Sessions are about 90 minutes and are offered in person or remotely. Each session begins with an energy clearing, then we bring positive energy into our session. We will get to know each other, setting an intention as we call upon the Holy Fire® Reiki energy, all Reiki Masters, our ancestors, and soul family to start our session. Using high-frequency music, we begin the energy work, spending 45 minutes with guided meditation, breath, and energy work. When the energy sharing has ended, we will connect on what happened during the shared experience and discuss the feelings associated with the session.

I will use tarot and oracle cards for any guidance you are seeking, or simply to read the energy of the session. Card reading is optional. You do not have to pull cards to have Reiki; this is part of my session. If you skip the cards, we will have more time to discuss the session. I allow the session to flow, while still doing my best to keep to the time allotted.

If you are receiving distance Reiki, I want you to be in full receiving mode: relaxed, comfortable and uninterrupted. The process is very similar to an in-person session:

• First, you make an appointment, just as you would with an office visit.
• At the appointed time, I will call you using a method we agree to (Zoom, Facebook Messenger, phone, etc.) and we talk briefly. You can choose to keep the line open, or we simply hang up while you receive Reiki.
• You make yourself comfortable in a space where it is safe to fall asleep and where you are not going to be disturbed for 45 minutes. You can play soft music, light a salt lamp, or diffuse any essential oils.
• I send you distance Reiki for about 45 minutes. You will feel the Reiki begin to flow a minute or two after the session begins. Distance Reiki is a subtle feeling that is somewhat different for everyone: tingling, warmth, sometimes a twitch as energy releases.
• At the end of the session, I usually send a text message.
• If you have fallen asleep, I don't want to wake you up. Your body does its best healing while you are resting. When you are ready, we will get in touch and talk briefly to exchange notes on what we each experienced.

A Mini Session is a 10-minute phone call followed by 20 minutes of distance Reiki. After our call, we hang up and you rest while I send Reiki, and I'll send you a text when your session is complete. Mini Sessions are a good fit if you already know Reiki and have something specific you'd like to focus on.

The 10-minute consultation call is free. A Mini Session is $45, and a Full Session (about 90 minutes) is $111. You'll pay when you book your session.

They're optional. As a girly who loves the sky, I like to look at a natal chart to get some additional insight from the cosmos before our session. If this is not something you want to share, no problem. We do not need it for Reiki; it is just something extra I can add to your session if you want to share those details. I will share what I discover in our session and send you the natal chart when we are done.
